Keadilan wishes to clarify that the judgment in default obtained today by Felda was only against publisher Pelita Koridor Sdn Bhd and printer Percetakan NPK Sdn Bhd for failure to file the memorandum of appearance. This judgment was entered despite their appeal for a short postponement as they were in a process of appointing solicitors to handle their case. No merit of the case was heard.
No judgment in default was entered against the 4 other defendants namely Keadilan President Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy President Dr Syed Husin Ali, and Dzulkarnain Taib and journalist Rusnizam Mahat of Suara Keadilan. All of them have filed in their statement of defence through their solicitors Edwin Lim, Suren and Soh.
The above defendants Pelita Koridor and printer Percetakan NPK Sdn Bhd will be applying to set aside the judgment in default once they have appointed their solicitors.
